The Price is Right. (Cue Music)

43-1Today one of my very kind and patient buyers received a counter offer on this lovely gem in Montecito Heights, 710 E. Avenue 43. The listing agent informed us they received 28 offers. Even though we have been seeing multiple offers on most of the properties in North East LA, 28 is A LOT! So, I thought it would be interesting to get feedback from my readers in the form of “The Price Is Right”.

Here’s the deal, you guess the correct price that this home closes for and you win an itunes gift card. This contest will last until the home closes. I won’t be able to disclose the selling price until it actually closes escrow, even if my buyer is lucky enough to be the winning offer.

Here’s the description from the MLS, but please note, public records show a 2 bedrooms and 1 bath, not the 3 bedrooms and 1/5 baths that are there. Sometimes, this square footage is totally legal, just never updated in the records, but it’s up to the buyer to find this information themselves. I’m told the seller bought it as a 3 bedroom 1.5 bath and wasn’t concerned with what the public records stated. The home is listed for $299,000. Submit your guesses to sliceofla@gmail.com or in the comment section below.

Realtors, Appraisers and Mortgage Lenders do not qualify for this contest, sorry.

Pretty in Los Feliz

I have a love of Los Feliz that runs deep. It was where my husband and I rented our first apartment. It was where I brought my first born home to. Funnily enough it is also home to what was, in my teenage mind, the quintessential High School.

Each morning I drive past Marshall High to get my kids to their Elementary School in Los Feliz. Every time I drive past the magnificent brick building and its towering evergreens, I picture that pink Karmann Ghia parked out front with the Psychedelic Furs playing in the background. Los Angeles has a funny way of presenting you with nostalgia even when you didn’t grow up here.

Plus, I always wanted that car.

Highland Cafe Soft Opening

Strolling through Highland Park today putting up flyers for  Franklin Elementary’s upcoming Silent Auction in Los Feliz, I was thrilled to run into the owners of the new Highland Cafe getting organized for Wednesday’s soft opening. One of the owners Alfonso, said he thinks it might take until Friday, but they are working hard to be open for business sans full menu by Wednesday.  For all of you that take your coffee seriously, Highland Cafe will have locally roasted, Handsome Coffee on their menu.
